Nowadays, public bodies can’t just pay lip service to equality. They need to assess the impact of their policies and practices on different groups of people, and take appropriate action to tackle any areas of unfairness or inequality.

Our Introducing Equality Impact Assessments online training course explores what equality impact assessments are and the benefits they can offer. More importantly, though, it provides staff with a simple, practical framework for conducting effective assessments that deliver real-world results.

Course contents

The Introducing Equality Impact Assessments training course is made up of three bite-sized sections:

  1. Getting started

Explores what equality impact assessments are, why they were introduced, and what they’re aiming to achieve.

  2. How to complete an assessment

Runs through a simple, seven stage process for conducting effective assessments. To illustrate how key ideas and principles apply in practice, we follow the progress of a case study character – Catherine – as she undertakes a high-profile assessment.

  3. Test your knowledge

Comprehensive mastery test to verify each user’s knowledge and understanding of the contents of the course. On successfully passing the test, users can download a personal course completion certificate.
